The team behind Bacaro, Salt House Tapas and Hanover Street Social are opening a brand new neighbourhood café in Castle Street this October.
The exciting new venture, Rocket & Ruby (named after the owners’ dogs), will be a fantastic new addition to the growing Liverpool food scene.
The 3000 sq ft restaurant on the former Cheese & Co site on the corner of Castle Street is promising to offer a new concept for city diners.
The menu will be inspired by a modern café and small plates theme and will be serving up early morning breakfasts following by small plates from noon until late.
This is the fourth city centre restaurant for the owners Red & Blue Restaurants. Co-owner, Paddy Smith said: “We are very excited about our latest city centre restaurant which will double the old Cheese & Co site and transform it into the perfect place for diners to relax and enjoy a delicious selection of small plates, freshly made sandwiches and home baked goodies, as well as an exciting new coffee window.
“Our executive chef Matt Walsh and his team have developed a fantastic menu which has a wide range of dishes, so there will be something for everyone to enjoy. Castle Street is now a real food destination and we feel Rocket & Ruby will be a fantastic addition.
“Rocket & Ruby completes our original business plan of opening four different, independently named restaurants in Liverpool, and we remain extremely proud of the high-quality standards we maintain across our portfolio. We are now looking to expand our popular Bacaro restaurant by opening a new site in Manchester in the new year.”
