Celebrate Christmas at El Gato Negro with a festive menu for groups.
Available for parties of up to 20, the new menu is perfect for sharing and features dishes typically enjoyed during Spanish festivities. Priced at £50 per head, including a glass of cava on arrival, the menu offers great value and caters for all tastes with a range of meat, fish, vegetarian and vegan dishes.
Advocates of El Gato Negro’s signature dishes won’t be disappointed with a number of the acclaimed restaurant’s classics included. Share in lamb skewers with spiced chickpea purée and aioli; spiced aubergine with onion confit, fritarda sauce and lavosh bread, and cod croquetas with piquillo pepper purée and aioli, and savour the flavour of El Gato Negro’s signature tiger prawns with chilli, garlic and lemon butter.
The King Street restaurant’s much-celebrated padrón peppers with Halen Môn sea salt, patatas bravas with spiced tomato fritarda sauce and aioli, and Catalan bread with olive oil, garlic and fresh tomato also feature, alongside an exclusive selection of Spanish meats. The black truffle salchichón, ibérico chorizo and jamón serrano are full of flavour.
Rounding the celebratory menu off and providing an indulgent sweet treat is El Gato Negro’s Creme Catalan, Tarta de Santiago with salted caramel Chantilly cream, and a selection of ice creams. A Spanish cheese selection including Manchego, Monte Enebro goat’s cheese and Picos blue ensures that those with a savoury tooth are satisfied too.
Speaking on the festive group menu, Simon Shaw, Chef Patron and Creative Director of El Gato Negro, commented: “We invite group bookings all year round, but at Christmas there’s obviously a significant increase in demand. As a chef it’s one of our most pressured times but I love it. The beauty of small plates is that they work so well for larger parties, we can ensure everyone’s tastes are catered for.
“This is the first year we’ll be celebrating Christmas in three cities with the opening of El Gato Negro Exchange Flags, Liverpool, and Park Row, Leeds. We’re really looking forward to it and will be joining guests in getting into the festive spirit.”
