Fancy watching England’s World Cup game against Belgium alongside a Reds legend?

If so then you’re in luck because Studio2 on Parr Street isn’t just showing the final Group G match on its big screen on Thursday night, it’s got former Liverpool goal hero John Aldridge there too.

Fans favourite Aldo will be kicking off the night with a Q & A alongside John Gibbons from the Anfield Wrap, sharing stories from his incredible Anfield career as well as his international appearances for the Republic of Ireland.

In a pro career lasting almost 20 years, he became one of the league’s highest ever goalscorers, and he represented the Republic of Ireland at two World Cups, in 1990 and ’94, so he knows a thing or two about what it takes to win at the highest level.

He’s never been afraid to give his opinions either, so it promises to be an entertaining straight-talking night – and it’s free admission.

Aldridge will be in the hot seat at Studio2 from 6pm, before England’s match at 7pm.

General manager Paul Nasole says they’re looking forward to a great night of footy, on and off the pitch.

“Aldo is an absolute legend in Liverpool and he’s got so many brilliant anecdotes from his playing and managing days, we thought he would really get everyone in the mood for the England game.

“We’re already qualified, there’s no pressure, and there’ll be lots of Premier League players in both teams, including Reds and an ex-Blue, so it should be a fantastic match.

“The atmosphere in here was so good when we showed the Champions League Final, we wanted to repeat that and after Panama everyone’s on a high with England so this is the perfect chance.”

Doors open at 3pm in time for the earlier kick-off games, with the John Aldridge Q&A from 6pm and then England v Belgium kick-off at 7pm.
